WE MUST PUT A STOP TO THIS!!
Hate Crime - Assault
Friday, February 26, 2010
On February 10, 2010 at about 5 p.m. two male UCR students were walking in the area of University Ave. and Chicago Ave. They noticed three male subjects following them while making anti-gay comments. The two students attempted to leave the area, but were confronted by the three subjects.
The three subjects began to assault the two students, hitting them in the head numerous times with their fists. During the assault the suspects made anti-gay statements. The suspects stopped the assault and walked away on University Avenue.
The suspects are described as two black males in their early twenties and one light skinned mixed race male in his twenties.
The victims were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. Riverside PD has documented and is investigating this crime.
UCPD would like to remind everyone to be aware of their surroundings when on and off campus and immediately report hate crimes and hate incidents.
